Riccardo Frizza
Conductor
Riccardo Frizza, born in Brescia, studied in Milano, Pescara and Verona. He appeared in guest performances amongst others in Parma, Lyon, Brüssel, Barcelona, Genua, Florenz, St. Petersburg, Madrid and Washington as well as at the Festivals in Pesaro, Spoleto and Aix-en-Provence. He conducted concerts beside others with Orchestre National de Belgique and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire includes the italian operas of the 19th century, mostly the works of Rossini. At the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata he recently conducted Mozarts Don Giovanni. CDs include amongst others Donizettis La fille du régiment, Martinůs Mirandolina, Solo-Recitals with Erwin Schrott (Decca) and Juan Diego Flórez (decorated with the Cannes Classical Award) as well as on DVD u.a. Rossinis Tancredi. Forthcoming performances include amongst others Puccinis Manon Lescaut and Verdis Otello at the New National Theater Tokio, Falstaff in Seattle, Donizettis Anna Bolena in Dresden, Lucrezia Borgia in San Francisco and Rossinis Armida (new production) at Metropolitan Opera.
