Aged seven years Aleksandra Kurzak already started her musical education by getting violin- and piano-lessons. She was member of the ensemble at Hamburgische Staatsoper, where she sang many roles of Mozart, Donizetti and Rossini. Aged 27 she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera and at Royal Opera House Covent Garden. To these houses she returns regularly as a guest. Furthermore she sang amongst others at the Staatsoper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, the Lyric Opera House in Chicago, Teatro Regio in Parma, Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse and at tSalzburger Festspiele. She worked with conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Bruno Campanella, Andrew Davis, Christoph von Dohnányi, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos as well as Charles Mackerras, Carlo Rizzi. At Theater an der Wien she made her debut as Donna Anna (Mozart: Don Giovanni) in summer 2009.
