Hamid Reza Tavakoli
The native Iranian was born in Teheran, before he moved to Vienna in 1986. From his studies on at Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien he works as a Video-artist for stage, film as well as producing short and experimental films and documentations. His Engagements include equally Opera and Theatre, amongst others Wiener Staatsoper, Burgtheater Wien, Schauspielhaus Wien and Komische Oper Berlin. He worked inter alii with Nikolaus and Philipp Harnoncourt, Stephen Lawless, Matthias Hartmann (at last at Goethe’s Faust and Schostakowitsch’s Lady Macbeth of Mzensk), Christoph Schlingensief (Area 7), Airan Berg Sebastian Hartmann, Karin Beier, Thomas Langhoff, Ong Keng Sen and Barrie Kosky. At Theater an der Wien he created videos for productions such as the world premiere of Lang’s I hate Mozart, Mozart’s Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots and at last for Rossin’s Tancredi.
