Constance Hoffmann
Costume designer
Constance Hoffman has designed costumes for opera, dance and theatre regionally, internationally, and in New York City. Her credits include collaborations with theatre artists such as Mark Lamos, Julie Taymor, Eliot Feld, and Mikhail Baryshnikov, opera directors Robert Carsen, David Alden, Christopher Alden, Keith Warner, and entertainer Bette Midler. Her work has been seen on many stages in New York City, including Madison Square Garden, Glyndebourne Festival, at the Opera Houses of Paris, Tokio, Tel Aviv, Munich, San Francisco, Houston, Los Angeles and New York City Opera, Hartford Stage, Shakespeare Theatre and Prince Music Theatre as well as regularely for Glimmerglass Opera. Awards include inter alii a nomination for the Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Invitations to Quadrennial 2003 and 2007 in Prague. On TV Live from Lincoln Center for example Paul Bunyan (Britten) from New York City Opera got broadcasted. She teaches at Tisch School of the Arts, which she has graduated herself as well as since 2002 together with Ming Cho Lee a summer design intensive Master class at Kennedy Center.
