Renate ArendsBesides being very active in concerts the soprano has a broad opera repertoire including Musetta (Puccini: La Bohème), Soeur Constance (Poulenc: Dialogues des Carmélites), Drusilla (Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea), Euridice (Gluck: Orfeo ed Euridice), Poppea (Händel: Agrippina), Frasquita (Bizet: Carmen), Monica (Menotti: The Medium), Fenena (Verdi: Nabucco), Therèse (Les Mamelles de Tirésias), Adele (Strauß: Die Fledermaus) and Hanna (Lehar: Die lustige Witwe).
She recently sang Susanna ( Le nozze di Figaro) with Het Gelders Orkest, 1. Magd in Strauss’ Daphne and Frasquita (Bizet: Carmen) at De Nederlandse Opera and Elisetta (Cimarosa: Matrimonio segreto) in English at Scottish Opera. Recent highlights are Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, Bach’s Magnificat with Peter Dijkstra in the Zaterdagmatinee and Gianetta (Donizetti: L’elisir d’amore) at De Nederlandse Opera.
