The voice of American tenor Michael Dailey was described by Opera News as “blessed with freshness.” He is currently a principal artist in residence at Opera San Jose having performed the roles of Des Grieux (Massenet: Manon), Don Ramiro (Rossini: La Cenerentola), Lensky (Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin), Nemorino (Donizetti: L‘elisir d‘amore), and Ferrando (Mozart: Così fan tutte). Mr. Dailey's roles with other companies have included Rodolfo (Puccini: La Bohème), Sportin' Life (Gershwin: Porgy and Bess), Roméo (Gounod: Roméo et Juliette) Camille (Lehar: Die Lustige Witwe), Don Basilio (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro) and Melot (Wagner: Tristan und Isolde). The roles of Lucano and 1st Soldier (Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea) mark his debut with Theater an der Wien.
