Nicholas Watts

Liberto, 2th Soldier and Tribun

Nicholas WattsTenor Nicholas Watts studied at Royal College of Music in London. His opera-roles include for example Belfiore (Mozart: La Finite Giardiniera) at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Ferrando (Cosi fan Tutte) at Opera North, Lucano and 1st Soldier (Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea) and Odoardo ( Händel: Ariodante) at English National Opera, Oronte ( Vivaldi: L’incoronazione di Dario) and Serano / Bertram ( Rossini: La Donna del Lago) at the Garsington Festival Opera as well as Pisandrus (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) in Graham Vick’s Birmingham Opera Company. He attended Jardin des Voix in 2007 with Les Arts Florissants and is at the moment with this ensemble on tour as Evangelist (Bach: Weihnachtsoratorium). He furthermore sang Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Matthäus Passion with Hallé Orchester. Future plans include inter alii Eustazio (Rossini: Armida) at Garsington.
