Schroeder, AndrewThe American baritone started his career in Europe in 1993 singing the title role in Tschaikowski’s Eugene Onegin at Théâtre du Capitôle at Toulouse. Since then he has performed at Opéra National de Paris (Strauß: Die Fledermaus), Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Chausson: Le Roi Arthus and Gluck: Iphigenie en Aulide), at Venice (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia and Verdi: La Traviata), New York City Opera (Iphigenie en Tauride), Teatro Real Madrid (Britten: The Rape of Lucretia), Opera Australia (Mozart: Don Giovanni and Gounod: Faust), Grand Théâtre de Genève (Purcell: Dido and Aeneas) and at Royal Opera House Covent Garden (Tschaikowski: Eugen Onegin). He has recorded numerous CDs, for example Le Roi Arthus (Telarc), Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux (Naxos) and Pia de’ Tolomei (Dynamic) as well as Schostakovitsch’s The nose (Suissa). Future plans include Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust at New York and Gluck’s Alceste at Aix-en-Provence.
