O´Neill, SimonBorn in New Zealand, Simon is a graduate of the University of Otago, Victoria University, Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School. Notable debuts have included Metropolitan Opera in Mozart's Idomeneo (Levine), Royal Opera House as Jenik in Smetana's The Bartered Bride (Mackerras), Salzburg Festival in Die Zauberflöte (Muti), BBC Proms (Boulez), and Australian Opera as Sergei in Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Armstrong). He has performed Wagner's Die Walküre, Lohengrin and Fidelio at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Parsifal with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Simon’s diary of future engagements includes Die Walküre, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Parsifal at the Royal Opera House, Die Walküre and Parsifal at the Metropolitan Opera, at Teatro alla Scala, Houston Grand Opera, the Bayreuth Festival and the Vienna, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin Staatsoper, Mussorgski's Boris Godunov and the title role of Otello at Teatro alla Scala.
