Furio Zanasi has begun his musical activity dedicating himself to Early Music, with a repertoire spanning from the madrigal to cantatas, from oratorio to Baroque opera.
He has collaborated with many ensembles and participated in the most prestigious festivals devoted to Early Music, in Italy as well as abroad.
After having debuted in the role of Marcello in Puccinis La Bohème at the Battistini competition in 1987, he appeared in all important theatres.
Furio Zanasi has also recorded for the main European Radios and recorded more than 60 CDs for different labels. In 1994, l'Academia Montis Regalis brought together musicians from all Europe playing on old instruments with an aim of extending the traditional repertory to the fascinating revival of the Early Music operated by the Italian "New Wave". With this orchestra Furio Zanasi has worked often under conductors such as Jordi Zavalla, Reinhardt Goebel, Chair Blanching, Christopher Hogwood, Ton Koopman, Luigi Mongiocavallo and Alessandro de Marchi. Furio Zanasi sings at Theater an der Wien for the first time.
