The Argentinean Soprano worked as a musician playing cello with Mendoza Symphony Orchestra, before she started her singing career after winning the Francisco - Vines - competition in Barcelona. Soon she sang all over Europe and South America roles such as Gluck’s Armide at the theatre in Versailles, Zerlina (Mozart: Don Giovanni) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Sevilia (La clemenza di Tito) at the Glyndebourne - Festival, Despina (Così fan tutte) at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Ilia (Idomeneo), Micaëla (Bizet: Carmen) and Adina (Donizetti: L’elisir d’amore) in Lyon, Poppea (Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea) at Maggio musicale fiorentino, Scarlatti’s Griselda at Innsbrucker Festwochen für Alte Musik and at Staatsoper unter den Linden as well as Ginevra (Händel: Ariodante), Armida (Rinaldo), Atalanta and Romilda (Xerxes) and finally Morgana (Alcina) at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. In Concerts she performed inter alii Mahler’s fourth symphony in Lille and Berlin, Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in Munich, Fauré’s Requiem in Berlin as well as Beethoven’s Christus am Ölberge at Teatro la Fenice. Veronica Cangemi has worked with conductors and orchestras such as Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico, Ivor Bolton, William Christie and Les Arts Florissants, Adam Fischer, René Jacobs and the Freiburger Barockorchester, Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Marc Minkowski, Zubin Mehta, Sir Neville Marriner, Trevor Pinnock and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.
Her recordings include amongst others Handel’s Ariodante for Deutsche Grammophon, Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice for Harmonia Mundi, Scarlatti’s Griselda for Harmonia Mundi, Vivaldi’s Orlando furioso and Griselda for Naïve as well as Rossini’s Tancredi for BMG.
At Theater an der Wien she made her debut as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare 2007 and has performed for example Morasto in Vivaldi’s La fida ninfa.
