The Ukrainian Conductor was born in Zboriv and graduated at the musical academy in Lviv and was winner of competitions such as national S. Tuchak Price at Kiew. He studied furthermore with Alberto Zedda and Gianluigi Gelmetti at Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena. In 1996 he got engaged by the National Theatre in Lviv, where he conducted works such as Verdi’s Aida, Nabucco, Il Trovatore, La Traviata and Otello, Puccini’s La Bohème, Tosca and I Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), Carmen (Bizet) as well as many works of the Russian Repertoire. He conducted the chamber orchestra Cluster, with who he appeared at many Festivals for example at Vilnius, Kiew and Ljubljana. In 2005 he made his debut at Rome with Tchaikovsky’s Swan lake. He furthermore conducted at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunow as well as at Teatro Municipal at Santiago Donizetti’s La fille du régiment. An outstanding success was his interpretation of Bellini’s Norma at Teatro Massimo at Palermo, whom he could repeat in February 2009 in concert with Edita Gruberova at Berlin. In June 2010 he makes his debut at Semperoper Dresden with Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia. At Bayerische Staatsoper he conducts this season (2009 / 10) Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and in Bruxelles Verdi’s La forza del destino. Future plans include for example appearances at St. Gallen, Athens and an invitation to Menuhin Festival at Gstaad as well as Donizetti’s La fille du regiment at San Francisco with Juan Diego Florez and concerts at Milan with the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali, Bellini’s Norma at Mannheim and Duisburg, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at Bologna and Tchaikovsky’s Eugen Onegin at Düsseldorf.
