Junges Ensemble des Theater an der Wien
The playing schedule of the first season consists of five opera productions and seven portrait recitals, thus complementing the offer of Theater an der Wien with its intimate repertoire. La cambiale di matrimonio had initially been created for Teatro San Moise in Venice, and is ideal for Kammeroper. With this one act-opera, we will begin a cycle of Rossini operas that will span over several years. Kammeroper will host a world premiere with Verkehr mit Gespenstern. Opportunities to re-discover one of the most popular operas of all time will arise with our intimate view on La bohème. We will continue our cycle of Britten operas which was started in Theater an der Wien with a co-production together with Neue Oper Wien and honour the composer in “his” year with The Prodigal Son / Curlew River. One of the most fascinating depictions of a troubled mind was achieved by Händel when he created Orlando. Inviting Wiener KammerOrchester and Bach Consort Wien, we present these renowned orchestras as pit-orchestras for the first time.
