Director

Philipp Harnoncourt works in very different disciplines: He directs theatre and opera, creates conceptions for rooms as well as for lighting, was technical director for the festival ImPulsTanz, Executive director for Wiener Schauspielhaus and creates plays as an author.
At last he works as a director, for example at productions such as Hasse’s Piramo e Tisbe at Wiener Schauspielhaus in 2001, Millöcker’s Der Bettelstudent at Landestheater Tirol, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte for Opernfestspielen Heidenheim und Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann for Seebühne Stralsund. 2008 he directed Marais’ Alcione at Wiener Odeon and Idomeneo, Re di Creta with his father for styriarte, in 2009 Birtwistle’s The Last Supper for Neue Oper Wien and OsterKlang. In 2010 he will direct again at Odeon Prokofjew’s Engel aus Feuer.
At Theater an der Wien he has already created in 2006 Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots.
