Matthias Rexroth is winner of the Viñas- and Belvedere-cometitions. He studied at Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, with Marilyn Horne and Eytan Pessen. His Performances include Handel’s Admeto at Händelfestspiele Halle, Giulio Cesare in Egitto at Oslo, Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at Hamburg and Telemann’s Der geduldige Sokrates under René Jacobs at Innsbrucker Festwochen and at Staatsoper Berlin. In concert he sang inter alii with Riccardo Muti and Nikolaus Harnoncourtm, with Concerto Köln, Freiburger Barockochester, Bachakademie Stuttgart as well as recitals and concerts at Munich, Vienna, Moskau, Torino and Bad Kissingen. He furthermore worked with Christophe Rousset, Fabio Luisi, Helmuth Rilling, Alessandro de Marchi, Rinaldo Alessandrini and Nicola Luisotti with orchestras such as Accademia di St. Cecilia, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Wiener Philharmonikern as well as Akademie für alte Musik Berlin. At Theater an der Wien he sang in 2009 Arminio (Händel: Partenope).
