The Rape of Lucretia
Bitish Mezzo soprano studied for example with Patricia Clarke and made her stage debut in Glyndebourne as Hippolyta (Britten: A Midsummer Night’s Dream). Her roles include for example amongst others Penelope (Monteverdi: Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria), Strawinski’s Oedipus Rex and Rosina (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Bizet’s Carmen, Armastre (Händel: Serse) and Meg Page (Verdi: Falstaff), Ruth (Sullivan: The Pirates of Penzance), Suzuki (Puccini: Madama Butterfly) at English National Opera, Niklausse (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann) at Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Charlotte (Massenet: Werther) in Seattle. On recordings the singer is documented with Elgar’s The Music Makers, The Rape of Lucretia and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde to name a few. Her future projects include inter alii Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at Garsington Opera and Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea with Glyndebourne Touring Opera.
