British Tenor Kim Begley started his career as a soloist at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, where he since then regularly in roles such as Pfitzner’s Palestrina, Britten’s Billy Budd and as Siegmund (Wagner: Die Walküre) and Erik (Der fliegende Holländer) performs. He appeared as a guest at English National Opera as well as internationally in Frankfurt, Barcelona, Bruxelles, Amsterdam, Paris, Milan, Berlin and Bayreuth (Der Ring des Nibelungen). In the United States he sang at the Metropolitan Opera (Prokofjew: War and Peace, Strauss: Salome) as well as at Los Angeles and Washington Opera. He has a large discography which includes for example Verdi’s Falstaff, Narraboth (Salome) under Christoph von Dohnányi and Loge (Das Rheingold) for the label Decca, Erik (Der fliegende Holländer) for the label Chandos and Busoni’s Doktor Faust for the label Erato. This recording got awarded with a Grammy Award.
