Bavarian Soprano Christiane Karg studied singing at Mozarteum Salzburg and was awarded in 2009 as young artist of the year (Opernwelt). From Opera studio of Hamburgische Staatsoper she changed to Oper Frankfurt, where she sings important roles of her repertoire such as Susanna (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). She made guest-appearances for examples at Bayerische Staatsoper (Ighino, Pfitzner: Palestrina), at Komische Oper Berlin (Norina, Donizetti: Don Pasquale) and with the Glyndebourne Touring Opera (Poppea, Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea). In 2006 she made her debut at Salzburger Festspiele and sang there at last Amore (Gluck: Orfeo ed Euridice) under Riccardo Muti. In 2011 she will return as Zerlina (Mozart: Don Giovanni). She furthermore is internationally reknown as a Concert artist. Her first Lied-CD Verwandlung got awarded with an Echo Klassik 2010. At Theater an der Wien she sang at last Ismene (Mozart: Mitridate, Rè di Ponto).
