The Russian Bass was born in Dimitrovgrad and studied at the conservatory of Saratov. He was winner of several singing competitions such as for example Moscow Romaciada and Hans Gabor – Belvedere- Wettbewerb as well as Ferruccio Tagliavini-Wettbewerb at Graz. He performed at the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre, Moscow Helikon Opera, the role of Oroveso (Bellini: Norma) at Gran Teatro del Liceu, at Volksoper Wien for example Sarastro (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) as well as from 2007 on at Oper Leipzig amongst others Titurel (Wagner: Parsifal) and Colline (Puccini: La Bohéme). Furthermore he sang Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila at Karlsruhe and in 2003 König Heinrich (Wagner: Lohengrin) at the Spoleto Festival dei due mondi, 2004 Verdi’s Requiem and Pimen (Mussorgsky: Boris Godunov) at Basel. Future projects include inter alii his debut as Escamillo (Bizet: Carmen) at Bolshoi Theatre and director of the casino (Prokofiev: The Gambler) in Barcelona.
