Riccardo Hernández
Set design
Riccardo Hernández was awarded with the Laurence Olivier Award and the Pulitzer Prize. He has created internationally over 200 set- and costume designs for example at the New York Shakespeare Festival, Public Theatre Mother Courage with Meryl Streep and at the Lincoln Center Theater, at Royal National Theatre London, Royal Court, in Orleans, Oslo and at Princeton University, Glass’ Appomattox in San Francisco, Neuwirth’s Lost Highway at English National Opera and at Young Vic, Wuorinen’s Haroun and the Sea of Stories at New York City Opera, Mozart’s Don Giovanni in Chicago and Bizet’s Carmen with Ron Daniels in Houston. Recently he sang Julius Caesar (American Repertory Theatre) and Alice Vs. Wonderland (Moskau, Janos Szasz). His future plans include amongst others Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess on Broadway, Telemann’s Der Neumodische Liebhaber Damon in New York and Haenel’s Jan Karsky in Avignon.
