Topi Lehtipuu
Belfiore
Born in Australia and a resident of Paris, Finnish tenor Topi Lehtipuu studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and made his stage debuts at the Vantaa Opera, the Savonlinna Opera Festival and in Paris. Much sought-after for his fine interpretation of Contemporary and Early Music including the major Mozart roles, he is working under such conductors as Ivor Bolton, Emanuelle Haïm, René Jacobs, Paul Mc Creesh, Riccardo Muti, Christophe Rousset, Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jean-Christophe Spinosi. He has appeared in Japan, the USA and all over Europe, including Berlin, Brussels, London, Munich, Paris, Salzburg, Madrid and Zurich, to name but a few. Projects until 2012 include Cosí fan tutte (Wiener Staatsoper), David in Wagners Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Glyndebourne), Don Giovanni (San Francisco), Die Zauberflöte (Paris; Nice) and a number of concerts and recordings. CD/DVDs include Cosí fan tutte (Glyndebourne), Les Paladins (Châtelet); Combattimenti (Haïm; Ciofi, Villazón – Naïve) or La Fida Ninfa (Spinosi - Naïve). At Theater an der Wien he sang at last 2008 for example in Handels Ariodante.
