Ariadne auf Naxos
The native Russan was born in 1980 and studied at Moskau and Berlin. He performed in a wide repertoire from Bach to Pärt with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Marcello Viotti, Ivor Bolton and Andreas Spering. Since 2003 he is member of the ensemble of Bayerischen Staatsoper. There he sings for example Mozart’s Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Rossini’s Figaro (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and Harlekin (Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos). He has worked with directors such as Christof Loy, David Alden and Robert Carsen. He performed as a guest inter alii at Bruxelles with Moritz (Meunier: Frühlingserwachen), Basel (Monteverdi: L’Orfeo, Orffs Carmina Burana), Leipzig as Marcello (Puccini: La Boheme), at Schwetzinger Festspiele as Pluto (Kraus: Proserpina), at Festivals at Baden-Baden, Weimar, Innsbruck, Salzburg with Handel’s Alexanderfest under René Jacobs, at Frankfurt, at Deutsche Oper Berlin and at Detroit.
