Yves Saelens

Belgian Tenor Yves Saelens graduated at the royal conservatory in Brussels and studied at Julliard Opera Center New York. He took master classes with Marilyn Horne and Roger Vignoles to name a few.
His concert repertoire includes works of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Rossini, Beethoven and Britten, his Opera roles include for example Filippo (L’infedeltà delusa), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Tito (La Clemenza di Tito), Alfredo (La Traviata), Steva (Jenufa) and David (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg). He performed for example at Aix-en-Provence, Barcelona, Brüssel, Frankfurt, Paris and Toronto. He regularly works with conductors such as Dennis Russel Davies, René Jacobs and Helmut Rilling. His work is documented on various CDs in Opera as well as in Recital. His performances in 2010 include Admeto (Gluck: Alceste) at Oper Leipzig and the main role in the world stage premiere of Wageman’s Legende at the Netherlands Opera.
