Alessandro

The Mezzo-soprano, who was born in Gorizia, studied singing at the Conservatorio B. Marcello in Venice and Italian literature in Trieste. She passed master classes with Peter Maag, Regina Resnik, Rockwell Blake, Claudio Desderi, Elio Battaglia and Claudio Strudthoff. There she specialized on old Music and Rossini.
She won many competitions, inter alii the Toti dal Monte and Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition.
She regularly sings amongst others at Wiener Konzerthaus, Théâtre royal de la Monnaie, Palais des Beaux Arts, Opéra de Bordeaux, Münchner Philharmonie, Glyndebourne Festival, Barbican Centre, Edinburgh Festival, Palau de la Musica de Valencia, Santiago de Compostela Baroque Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival with orchestras such as Concerto Italiano, Europa Galante, Il Complesso Barocco, Ensemble 415, Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment und Gabrieli Consort and conductors like amongst others Marcello Viotti (Rossini: L’Italiana in Algeri), Jordi Savall (Monteverdi: L’Orfeo), Rinaldo Alessandrini (Monteverdi: La Vergine dei Dolori), Fabio Biondi (Vivaldi: Bajazet), Daniele Gatti (Puccini: Manon Lescaut), Gabriele Ferro (Strawinski: Pulcinella), Alain Guingal (Poulenc: Les Dialogues des Carmelites), Sir Charles Mackerras (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte), Paolo Arrivabeni (Rossini: Tancredi) and Paul McCreesh (Händel: Il Trionfo de Tempo). Forthcoming projects include inter alii her debuts with Jean Christophe Spinosi in Vivaldis Orlando Furioso in Paris, Nizza, London and Amsterdam.
Beside numerous radio broadcasts inter alii for RAI and RadioTre Suite, British BBC3, Australian ABC, ORF 1, Radio France, Arte and ARVO (Holland) on CD Porpora’s Notturni per i defunti, Vivaldi’s Motezuma und Handel’s Tolomeo with Il Complesso Barocco under Alan Curtis as well as Vivaldi’s Atenaide mit Modo Antiquo are available.
At Theater an der Wien she performed at last in Vivaldi’s Armida al Campo d’Egitto.
