The international career of baritone Dietrich Henschel started with Henze’s Prinz von Homburg at Berlin and Busoni’s Dr. Faust at Lyon. He performed inter alia at Paris Gluck’s Alceste or Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande and made guest-appearances in works reaching from baroque to until contemporary music amongst others at Munich, Amsterdam, Genf, Zürich, Salzburg, Aix-en-Provence and Florence for example with René Jacobs, William Christie as well as Christoph von Dohnányi. Meanwhile he has already made his debut as a conducter with Ensemble Diabolicus at Paris and conducted inter alia the Orchestra of L’Opéra de Rouen and of Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie. His first recording as a conductor À nos Amours got released at Naive. As a singer he recorded amongst others Bach’s Matthäus-Passion, Haydn’s Die Jahreszeiten, Busoni’s Grammy-awarded Dr. Faust as well as at last Schubert’s Schwanengesang. Future plans include Recitals as well as for example Chin’s Alice in Wonderland in Geneva.
