Mère Marie
The South African Mezzo soprano was engaged after her studies in her native land at Cologne and at Braunschweig. She works since this time regularely with Brigitte Fassbaender. Today the Mezzosoprano, who got decorated with the Eberhard-Waechter-Medal internationally in opera and concert on houses such as Wiener Staatsoper, in Paris, Dresden, Berlin, Lissabon, Zurich and Hamburg. Her repertoire includes Mozart, Adalgisa (Bellini: Norma), Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Charlotte (Massenet: Werther), Bizets Carmen, Octavian (Strauss: Der Rosenkavalier), Komponist (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Brangäne (Wagner: Tristan und Isolde). Since her debut in 2000 she regularely performs in Bayreuth worked with conductors such as Ozawa, Rilling, Welser-Möst, Jansons and Harnoncourt. Her future plans include appearances at Oper Zürich as well as in Bregenz. At Theater an der Wien she has already performed Mère Marie in 2008.
