Christa Ratzenböck

Sœur Mathilde

After studying at Mozarteum the mezzosoprano sang in Opera productions at Oper Zurich, Opera Arriaga in Bilbao, Landestheater Linz and Salzburg, Stadttheater Klagenfurt and Baden, at Kaiserslautern and Basel. Her repertoire includes amongst others Mozart’s Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Niklausse (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann), Komponist (Strauss: Ariadne auf Naxos), with whom she had big success as well as roles in works of Henze and Britten. In concert she has appeared at Vienna at Musikverein and Konzerthaus, at Brucknerhaus, Festspielhaus Salzburg, at Budapest, Zagreb and Berlin as well at the festival Carinthischer Sommer. The Austrian has worked with conductors such as Franz Welser-Möst, Heinrich Schiff, Julia Jones, Christian Arming, Hans Wallat, Dennis Russell Davies, Ralf Weikert, Sian Edwards and Adam Fischer. At Theater an der Wien she performed several times for example in Schulhoffs Flammen with Bertrand de Billy.
