Start of rehearsals for "Briefe von Ruth"

On 13 January, rehearsals for Briefe von Ruth have begun.

In 2023, the Norwegian musical duo Gisle Kverndokk and Aksel-Otto Bull successfully brought the moving life and love story of Ruth Maier to the stage. The diary of the ‘Norwegian Anne Frank’ documents her escape from Vienna to Norway, from where she was deported to Auschwitz during the war and murdered. Philipp Moschitz is responsible for the new production of Briefe von Ruth at the Kammeroper. Emily Mrosek as Ruth Maier is joined by Maaike Schuurmans, Dorothea Maria Müller, Alen Hodzovic, Reinwald Kranner and students from the Performing Center Austria (Anna Fleischhacker, Christoph Ruda) and the August Everding Theatre Academy in Munich (Julia Bergen) as part of CAMPUS to form an ensemble, which is musically directed by Herbert Pichler together with the Orchestra of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.

The premiere will take place on 24 February at the Kammeroper, further information on the production and tickets can be found here.
