Premiere of "Isacco"
On June 5, we celebrated the premiere of Marianna Martines’ oratorio Isacco at the Kammeroper.
The final premiere of the season brought a fresh breeze to the stage once again.
Directed by Eva-Maria Höckmayr, the biblical story was presented from a new angle: a female perspective, powerful and moving. Together with conductor Chiara Cattani, who led the Bach Consort Wien from the fortepiano, the evening showcased a strong female artistic presence.
The audience responded with sustained applause for all performers: Dennis Orellana in the title role, Christian Senn, Sophie Gordeladze, Anle Gou, and Andjela Spaic, who took on the role of Angelo as part of a CAMPUS cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Isacco will continue to be performed at the Kammeroper through June 26. More information and tickets are available here.
