In Antonio Cesti’s opera, the love-abstinent Queen Orontea begins to falter when the shipwrecked Alidoro arrives at her court, setting off a turbulent web of love, entanglements and jealousy.

Under the musical direction of Wolfgang Katschner with the lautten compagney BERLIN and in a staging by Tomo Sugao, the cast features Hilary Cronin (Orontea), Gabriel Díaz (Alidoro), Maria Ladurner (Silandra), Johannes Wieners (Corindo), Alexander Strömer (Gelone/Creonte), Stephen Chaundy (Aristea) and Therese Troyer (Giacinta).
Manhan Qi appears as Tibrino as part of the CAMPUS cooperation with the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
