The Theater an der Wien as a public space for everyone! Once a month we will now be opening our theatre on Saturdays as a place to meet for coffee, cake and culture. Come and visit us with family and friends for a coffee on Saturdays and enjoy our newly refurbished opera house. Make yourself comfortable in the foyer with a book or unwind on our warm sun terrace. Make use of the new foyer and the terrace for a break. We look forward to welcoming you and having an interesting chat.

Excitement and variety are more your sort of thing? We have that for you too! A wide range of activities that help young & all discover and experience opera. From singalongs to operatic pub quizzes for theatre experts – in our theatre there’s something new to discover every month. And for all those interested in exploring the theatre and even taking a look behind the scenes, a guided tour is just the thing. Every Saturday, TaWumm! workshops for families & friends from age 4/6 (with/without accompanying adult) are also held at the theatre. Even the youngest visitors experience opera with all five senses through activities, music and, above all, lots of fun. And for all those who want to know everything there’s the opportunity to learn about the various departments of the Theater an der Wien in more detail. For instance, TaWow – off to the props! gives children the chance to make little works of art – inspired by our operas and operettas.
