She has long been an audience favourite, and not just at the MusikTheater an der Wien. In virtuoso Baroque roles, as a regular guest at the genre-spanning concerts by L’Arpeggiata and Christina Pluhar or as the tango singer María in Piazzolla’s María de Buenos Aires: with her dark voice and energetic stage presence, Luciana Mancini is a hit with audiences. The concert Pájaro de Oro is dedicated to the ladies of the world of tango and examines their role in a musical genre that was long dominated by men. The programme includes classics by Gardel and Piazzolla alongside more recent compositions, for instance by Antonio Tarragó Ros. And in Puerto Tango, Luciana Mancini has found the ideal accompaniment: this Budapest ensemble combines older tangos with contemporary works and makes sure every programme features new arrangements and a spirit of adventure!
