Finn is only a little note in a well-known birthday song – until, one day, he dreams of a beautiful melody. There and then, Finn quits his old song, leaving it with a hole, and sets off in search of the tune of his dreams. But the world is big and full of music: Finn learns about many different places and styles of music – but he still cannot find his melody. At long last he discovers it – and in a very special place. The children’s opera Klangstreich relies entirely on the expressive capabilities of the human voice, from singing to speaking, from humming to beatboxing. Three singers – two female and one male – tell the story of the note that embarks on a voyage of discovery, taking the audience on a journey through musical styles and worlds of sound as they do so. The score for the opera, which premiered in 2025, is by the young composer Marc L. Vogler, who adapted Inge Brendler’s children’s book of the same name together with Dany Handschuh.
