The tango has always been a melting pot of emotions, musical styles and vastly differing biographies. In the space of what is mostly only three minutes, a whole universe opens up in which joy and sadness lie side by side, where nostalgia, pain, enjoyment and love have their place and where stories are told that everyone can relate to. Although the tango originated in Latin America, it belongs to us all. It was in this spirit that the project Corazón Abierto (“open heart”) was born. In their first joint concert at the MusikTheater an der Wien in March 2026, Luciana Mancini, Eszter Vörös and Éva Gárdos focused on the women who play a role in the tango’s story. In their current project they turn their attention inward to explore the secrets of the heart.
