On 30 November, ORF III will broadcast Rossini's comedy of mistaken identity L’occasione fa il ladro as part of „Erlebnis Bühne mit Barbara Rett“ (Stage Experience with Barbara Rett), which already enjoyed great success at the Chamber Opera in September 2025. The one-act opera contains everything that characterises his later works: fast-paced ensembles, touching and virtuoso arias, and amusing instrumental effects. Marcos Darbyshire, who already demonstrated his knack for comic opera in 2017 with his production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale at the Kammeroper, will stage this double comedy of mistaken identity. Inna Demenkova, Alberto Robert, Roberto Lorenzi and Petra Radulovic throw themselves into the fast-paced play about false identities and true love. Pedro Beriso makes his conducting debut at the Kammeroper and, together with the Wiener KammerOrchester, will provide a lively Italian sound.

The documentary „Stefan Herheim – Das Drama liegt in der Musik (The Drama Lies in the Music)“  was already shown on 23 November as part of the matinee on ORF 2 and is available on ORF ON until 21 May 2026. The new documentary by Stein-Roger Bull and Arild Erikstad traces the career of Stefan Herheim, director and artistic director of the MusikTheater an der Wien, and accompanies him during rehearsals for Johann Strauss' operetta "Die Fledermaus", which the director himself staged in autumn 2025 to mark the 200th birthday of the Waltz King.
