From 1961 to 2026, the Kammeroper at the Hotel Post was a venue for artistic encounters and diverse discoveries in musical theatre. Innovative productions and daring programmes were received here with great enthusiasm by the audience. For generations of emerging artists, the venue served as a unique springboard onto the international opera scene.

As the operator of the Kammeroper since 2012, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien are withdrawing from this second venue of the MusikTheater an der Wien for the time being at the end of the 2025/26 season due to budget cuts. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who has actively supported the theatre’s operations, as well as to the audience who have remained loyal to the Kammeroper over many years.
