How do I order a subscription?

Orders in writing may be made by email, fax and post and can be paid for by credit card (immediate dispatch) or cash transfer form (dispatch as soon as payment has been received). Please use the enclosed order slip to order your new subscription or cycle. All orders will be processed by the subscriptions office in the order that they are received.*

In addition, you can also order your subscriptions or cycles by phone (+43(0)1 588 302903), online (, except flexible subscriptions & selected cycles).

How can I renew my subscription?

  1. Click here
  2. Log in to pay for your subscription for the 20/21 season.
  3. If you have forgotten your password, you can also reset it here.
  4. In the next step you will see your subscription tickets reserved for the 20/21 season.
  5. You can go to the next step by paying / booking.
  6. Finally, select the payment method and read and confirm the terms and conditions. Via the button "order with payment" you get to the selected payment.
  7. You will then receive the confirmation page and a confirmation email for your booking.

Are there discounts for subscriptions?

When purchasing or renewing a subscription or when purchasing a new cycle:
30% concession (incl. 10% early booking bonus) valid until 10 June 2021
(Premiere subscriptions: 20% concession)
20% concession from 11 June 2021

How long is a subscription valid?

A subscription or cycle is valid for one season only. You will be informed in good time of any amendments to the terms and conditions for subscriptions.

Is it possible to change terms?

It is possible to exchange three performances included in your subscription or cycle in the current season within the series from 15 June 2021 or from 1 September 2021 at the Theater an der Wien box office no later than seven days before the performance provided these performances are in the same category and subject to availability (does not apply to concerts). Please note that sale or return is excluded for subscription tickets. Please note that tickets can only be exchanged at the Theater an der Wien box office (until 6 pm).

Do I have to do anything else in order to accept the terms and conditions?

By renewing a subscription or purchasing a new subscription or cycle you agree to the terms and conditions for subscriptions set out here. Further, the general terms and conditions of WTS Wien Ticket Service GmbH ( also apply.

Will my data be recorded?

Information submitted by customers is stored and processed by the VBW and affiliated companies especially for the purposes of customer management and for internal market research, marketing and advertising purposes. Such information will not be made available to third parties. Consent to this procedure can be withdrawn by post or email ( at any time. The Theater an der Wien requests subscription holders to send notice in good time of any change of address or telephone number. No liability is accepted for delays in the delivery of documents sent by post.

When does single ticket pre-sale start?

Am 15. Juni 2021 beginnt der Einzelkarten-Vorverkauf ausschließlich für die Vorstellungen bis 31. Dezember 2021 an den Vorverkaufsstellen (Tageskasse Theater an der Wien, Wien-Ticket Pavillon) sowie per Telefon unter +43 (0)1 58885. Der Vorverkauf für die Vorstellungen ab 1. Jänner 2022 beginnt am 1. September 2021. Im Onlineshop beginnt der Einzelkarten-Vorverkauf jeweils einen Tag später. Die Garderobengebühr ist im Kartenpreis enthalten. Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass Einzelkarten-Bestellungen nicht vor dem allgemeinen Vorverkaufsstart entgegengenommen werden können.
