WRITER IN RESIDENCE
ILIJA TROJANOW
Author, publicist, translator and publisher Ilija Trojanow is also an avid opera fan and regularly attends the MusikTheater an der Wien. A meeting with director Stefan Herheim led to the idea of accompanying life at an opera house for one year as writer in residence. As an interested spectator at rehearsals, an outside observer of the work that goes on in a theatre and not least as a literary commentator on the topics that preoccupy the MusikTheater an der Wien during the season, Ilija Trojanow will regularly contribute his comments in various formats. These are planned to include reflections on current stagione productions, the MusikTheater an der Wien magazine, literary vignettes on our online channels and a podcast from the rehearsal room, Probenzimmer Spezial. Additionally, several discussion events will take place on topics arising from current productions.
