Premiere of "MARÍA DE BUENOS AIRES"

Astor Piazzolla's tango operita María de Buenos Aires celebrated its premiere at the Kammeroper on February 12. A production that was far from the usual tango romanticism, but which captivated and inspired with its poetic and visually stunning staging.

The audience thanked the entire ensemble with long-lasting applause: Juana Inés Cano Restrepo for her directing debut in the Kammeroper, Luciana Mancini in the title role, Jorge Espino as Payador, Daniel Bonilla-Torres as El Duende, the ensemble folksmilch and the four students of the Performing Center Austria Theresa Barborik, Anna Bauer, Achim Himmelbauer and Anna Reeves as part of the campus cooperation.
María de Buenos Aires will be performed at the Kammeroper until March 2.
