FAMILY OPERA
WO DIE WILDEN KERLE WOHNEN
for young & all aged 6 and above
This year we are looking forward to Oliver Knussen's one-hour opera Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen, based on the best-selling children's book of the same name by Maurice Sendak. Director and puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan sensitively and aptly tells the story of the boy Max, in which reality and fantasy become blurred and many an exciting adventure must be passed.
HAMED UND SHERIFA
for young & all aged 8 and above
Like Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen, the children's opera Hamed und Sherifa by Zad Moultaka is also an Austrian premiere. In this humorous chamber opera, several worlds collide: "Western" and "Oriental" music, but also different views on how to behave as a "man".
TaWhoop – Sing & Swing!
for young & all aged 4 and above
How do the wild guys move? And how do they sing when they are happy or even really angry? In the workshop "TaWhoop - Sing & Swing!" we dive into the fantastic sound world of the family opera Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen together with movement and vocals. The focus is on having fun, letting off steam and experiencing your own creativity.

Wilde Kerle – Rhythm & Paint!
for young & all aged 4 and above
Imaginations run riot when wild kids take over the mumok, inspired by the family opera Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen and a profusion of colour! What does an angry monster, a funny monster or a really sad monster actually sound like? What wild things are inside us, waiting to get out? What is the result when we draw our own monsters? Guided by musicians and art educators, young & all discover the world of the Wild Things through music and visual arts – and maybe even in one of the artworks in the museum!

TaWumm! Club Night
for young adults aged 16 to 24
TaWumm! Club Night is the new club for young people run by the MusikTheater an der Wien: Are you addicted to the magic of the theatre? Do you want to experience opera from a different angle for a change? Can you sing operatic arias off by heart, but your friends just shake their heads in wonder? Or have you never been to the theatre but want to find out more about it? Then you’ve come to the right place! Whatever background you have, come along and be part of TaWumm! Club Night! We watch rehearsals and performances in Hall E and the Kammeroper together, meet the people who perform on stage and backstage, can try our hand at artistic or creative work ourselves, and above all have a great time! Previous knowledge or experience is not necessary. Just be open, honest and critical – that’s what we want.

LATE NIGHT
Late Night at the Kammeroper is our programme for night owls: From musical cabaret to jazz, from improvisation to chansons, from the baroque to the ballroom – at these lively evenings with a certain twist, anything is possible. For late at night the curtain rises on programmes that bring the horizons of musical theatre into sharper focus, broaden them and even go beyond them, that shake the foundations of serious classical performance a little and play blithely on to prevent its gathering dust.
