Klangforum Wien PPCM Academy

The degree programme "Performance Practice in Contemporary Music" (PPCM) at the Kunstuniversität Graz (KUG) is unique in this form worldwide: Since 2009, Klangforum Wien has held a collective professorship and is dedicated to passing on forms of expression and playing techniques to a new generation of artists. The specialised master's degree programme is aimed specifically at young musicians in the fields of string and wind instruments as well as harp, piano, accordion and percussion. For the winter semester 2020, the instrumental programme has been expanded to include a separate professorship for singing: PPCM vokal under the direction of the German baritone Holger Falk. In this edition of the PPCM Academy in cooperation with the CAMPUS programme of the MusikTheater an der Wien, the music students experience how a music theatre production is created and participate in performances of Peter Eötvös' Der goldene Drache together with members of Klangforum Wien. In addition, the students can work on his compositions in a master class with composer Peter Eötvös and immerse themselves in his work, musical language and sound design.
