In a castle, a small group of people already imagines themselves in the best of all worlds. The optimistic philosopher Pangloss has always encouraged them not to doubt the facts. When suddenly the inhabitants' view of the world is shaken, they set out to take a closer look at the "real" world. Here they encounter love, sadness, anger and beauty, and the present seems to be one thing above all - in motion! What remains is the question: what are we living for?
The characters are loosely based on Voltaire's novel Candide ou l’optimisme. The musical setting is the 9th Symphony "From the New World" by A. Dvořák. Large choirs in large squares alternate with ensembles, scenes and choreographies in small courtyards. You can hear works by H. Purcell, G. Verdi, G. Puccini, W. A. Mozart, R. Strauss, J. Brahms, M. T. von Paradis and others. The 30 young artists are between 15 and 24 years old.
