Holle!
When it's stormy and snowing outside, it's probably Frau Holle at work: this is also the case in our new family opera for children aged 6 and above, which premieres on 21 February at the Theater an der Wien. With plenty of humour and enthusiasm, Holle! tells us why we need to protect our climate in a modern version of the Grimm fairy tale.

Writer in Residence
The writer, journalist, translator and publisher Ilija Trojanow is an enthusiastic opera fan and regular visitor to the MusikTheater an der Wien. An encounter with artistic director Stefan Herheim gave rise to the joint idea of accompanying the work of an opera house for a year as writer in residence. As a curious observer of rehearsal processes, an outside observer of theatre operations and, last but not least, a literary commentator on topics that will occupy the MusikTheater an der Wien in the 2025/26 season, Ilija Trojanow will be speaking out repeatedly in various formats.
